Pupil Premium

Pupil premium is funding to improve education outcomes for disadvantaged pupils in schools in England. Evidence shows that disadvantaged children generally face additional challenges in reaching their potential at school and often do not perform as well as other pupils.

Funding to schools is available for pupils who are eligible for Free School Meals, pupils who have been adopted from care or who have left care and for children who are looked after by the Local Authority.

More information on funding, its allocation to school, and how it could be used can be found HERE

If your financial circumstances have changed and you feel you may be entitled to Free School Meal support, do use the Dorset Council free checking service, which can be found here – https://www.dorsetcouncil.gov.uk/education-and-training/schools-and-learning/at-school/free-school-meals.aspx

Using the checking tool is easy – you just need your NI number and some basic details about yourself and your child(ren). The information is confidential and the school will not be told any specific details about your financial circumstances.
