We are proud to be registered with Eco Schools working towards our ‘Green Flag’. This is an important part of the school vision to ‘Take the extra step in learning, kindness and ambition for ourselves, others and our world.’

Food Waste Campaign
Through 2024, Eco Group with School Council campaigned on reducing food waste. They daily weighed and recorded the amount food waste for each class. They then followed up with poster competition and campaign song promoting children to ‘Eat up their peas!’ and reduce food waste at lunchtimes.

National Insect Week 2024
Working together (staff, parents and pupils), we built our new pond and mega insect hotel in our wildlife area. Children helped to dig out the hole needed, and filled the pallets with a variety of sticks, pinecones and bamboo canes.
Tree Planting
We received our trees as part of the Queens Green Canopy initiative – adding another line of trees to the ones we planted in 2020, plus a few more dotted around our playing field – some to create a screen by our MUGA (Multi Use Games Area) and a small number in another corner.
We planted 10 rowan trees, 10 silver birch trees and 10 wild cherry trees at the bottom of the school field. Our hope is that in planting these trees, we will eventually double the size of our conservation area; provide the children with a wonderful space to enjoy nature and help combat climate change.
